Switching insurers

All health insurers were required to publish their healthcare premium for 2026 by no later than 12 November 2025.

After that date, you have until 31 December 2025 to compare your health insurance and switch to another insurer.

Cancelling your insurance

If you would like to cancel your policy with your current health insurer, your notice of cancellation must reach them

before 1 January 2026.

New insurance policies

The deadline for registering with a new health insurer is 1 February 2026. However, your cover will be backdated

to 1 January 2026.

Please note: if you have any arrears on your premium, you will not be able to switch insurers.

Make it easy for yourself: The switch service

You can also make use of the insurer switch service. Make sure you register with your new health insurer before 1 January 2026 and ask them to cancel your current insurance.

Cancelling in the last week

Are you cancelling your health insurance in the final week of the year using our comparison tool (Switching Service)? To be on the safe side, also send a cancellation notice to your current insurer. This way, you can be sure your cancellation is received before January 1st.

To be able to provide you with a health insurance policy, we need your address details. These details will be saved in our own database. We will only pass on your address details to Vecozo, the general database of insurers and healthcare providers. This is a highly secure database.
